Opiate drug, known as "poppy" was hidden in the locker of his bedroom in Paralimni by a young Indian man.
According to information, after securing a court warrant, members of the YMCA Famagusta Branch conducted a search of the apartment where the 25-year-old Indian was staying yesterday afternoon.
During the search, a box containing 7 closed packages of approximately 200 grams each and two other open packages of approximately the same weight, containing dried fruits of a plant believed to be of the plant known as 'poppy' was found.
All that was recovered was taken for examination, and when questioned the 25-year-old made some allegations which are being investigated.
Investigations by the police are continuing.
