The members of the cycling police of the Paphos Police Directorate made 97 out-of-court complaints during January 2022.
According to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michael Ioannou, as part of their activities, members of the cycling police during January 2022[/B] made 97 out-of-court traffic complaints.
In addition, Ioannou said, they provided assistance to the public on 24 occasions and provided assistance[/B] on 31 occasions to other departments and services of the Paphos Police Directorate for various operations.
They also conducted 75 stops and checks of suspected persons and vehicles.
They conducted checks in parking lots to prevent glass breakage and malicious damage to cars. Distributed educational materials on theft and burglary prevention measures, provided advice to shopkeepers and other business owners on security measures for their property and shops.
Gave advice to tourists and locals where requested. They carried out checks at various restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, beaches and religious places whether they were complying with the Sanitation Law
They policed the Chloracas and Geroskipou area where requested, and also policed various events and football matches. They also transported prisoners to the Paphos District Court. They provided order and security measures at the Paphos District Court, the Paphos District Welfare Office but also provided a witness protection guard in Chloraka.
They also proceeded with other departments to check for illegal aliens in Chloraka and other areas. They proceeded with checks at the detention facilities of the Paphos Police Directorate and provided assistance to on-duty members to search detainees in the detention facilities.
