New tightened measures were announced today by the Health Minister aimed at limiting the spread of the virus in the community with the Omicron mutation accelerating the rate of transmission.


Among other things, the Minister of Health announced new measures concerning eating places, entertainment centres and music and dance clubs and as a consequence, weddings and baptisms.

In particular, from 6 January 2022, to enter all of the above, citizens will have to present, in addition to their Safepass, proof of identification (identity card, passport, driving licence).

Also, from 10 January 2022:


  • The setting of a maximum limit of 200 persons for catering establishments, entertainment centres, music and dance centres, weddings and christenings, subject to health protocols and the maximum number of persons per square metre in force.
  • Mandatory service exclusively at table seating.
  • The maximum number of persons per table is set at 8 persons.
