[BR]We are trying to explain our just cause and the Antalya Diplomatic Forum is an opportunity for tdvk, said Ersin Tatar, who held meetings with officials from Sierra Leone, Azerbaijan and Latvia on the sidelines.
Speaking to the envoy of the T/C "news agency", Tatar said he had other non-official meetings with officials of various countries participating in the Forum.
Today, the second day of the Forum, he continued, he met with the delegations there of Somalia and Gambia.
With all those he met, he added, he had the opportunity to explain the injustices suffered by the TCs and their just struggle.
He thanked the President and the Foreign Minister of Turkey for their diplomatic initiative to bring together the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Russia in the framework of the Forum.
Ersin Tatar said that representatives of international media express interest and ask him for statements on Cyprus and his statements become news all over the world.
According to him, many heads of state, foreign ministers, representatives of NGOs and other organizations participating in the Forum do not know details about the Cyprus problem. "Our duty is to explain to them. The Cyprus problem is an old problem, which the international community is aware of, but they may not know the details. Most of them don't even know. This is what we are trying to explain together with our delegation. But our biggest opportunity is that the Republic of Turkey is articulating a voice in the field of diplomacy in the international community and can steer various issues. I think with the contacts of the Republic of Turkey itself, they can change the perspective of the countries in its sphere of influence on Cyprus."
He went on to say that he may not achieve overnight the solution he wants, but he can bring his new vision to the Forum. "If the position of the TC people (for a solution) on the basis of sovereign equality in Cyprus is accepted, we can move to a formal and comprehensive negotiation process for a just, permanent and viable settlement in Cyprus. We have no doubt about this. What matters is the acceptance of our sovereign equality."
He said that in his contacts in Antalya he tells his interlocutors that based on the 1960 agreements, there are "two founding peoples" in Cyprus and the TC "people" will never be under the yoke of the Greek Cypriots and underlines the importance of their sovereignty and Turkey's guarantees.
His interlocutors, he continued, say they find it strange that Turkish Cypriots are experiencing injustice, victimization and violations of their human rights in Cyprus. "But right now, everyone is just watching. Our job is to explain it in the best possible way."
The T/C leader and his "supervisor", Tahsin Ertugrologlu, had a meeting with the Deputy President of Azerbaijan and the Deputy Prime Minister of Latvia.
As reported in the occupied territories, in a statement to the envoy of the T/C news agency, the special representative of the T/C leader, Ergyun Olgun - who was present at the meeting - said that they exchanged views and discussed the issue of expanding cooperation.
Tatar and Ertugrologlu also met Somali Foreign Minister Abusaid Muse Ali.
In a message posted on Twitter last night at the opening of the Forum, Ersin Tatar said that "the steps taken by the Republic of Turkey in the field of diplomacy are very promising for our nation and increase our confidence. Congratulations."
As also reported in the occupied territories, "Prime Minister" Faiz Suzhouoglu, who is also in Antalya, attended the "Leaders' Panel" yesterday afternoon.
With him were the partners of the "government", Fikri Ataoglu "Minister of Tourism" and President of the PP and Erhan Arikli, "Minister of Transport" and President of the CA. The meeting titled "The price of peace or the cost of war", the news added, which was reportedly attended by the three TC politicians, discussed all issues on the world agenda, especially the Russia-Ukraine war.
The "Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment", Fikri Ataoglu held important meetings on the sidelines of the forum that began yesterday and will end tomorrow, a news report in Bayrak said, without giving further details.
