The "real estate committee"
The "real estate committee" announced today that it has accepted the "department of wakufis" (EBKAF) as interested parties in the properties concerning the fenced area of Famagusta, the 'Religious Affairs Department' and the 'Abdullah Pssia' Waqfiko.
As reported by the Kipris Postasi website, a statement from the "committee" says that the three institutions - waqfikas in question had applied for some of the properties in Varosha and decided today to accept their applications and make them interested parties
The "committee" speaks of its "reasoned decision" on January 28, in which it considers that there are property claims of "the Waqf organization (EBKAF), the Department of Religious Affairs and the Abdullah Pasha Foundation", "the (property) elements of a relevant application may relate to potential rights or property interests of the Waqf people and for this reason, it decided that it would be more appropriate and fair to include them as an interested party and give them a reason in the application.
The Kipris Post writes that this is an important decision with regard to the claims of the vakufis and the "department of religious affairs" that they have property within Varosha. It notes that a more detailed announcement will be issued later.
