Russian troops have entered the Ukrainian port city of Mikolayiv on the Black Sea, local authorities said today.
In a video posted online, provincial governor Vitaly Kim noted that fighting was raging in some areas of the city.
"Let's not get agitated," he added.
Ukraine sinks its navy flagship
Earlier, Ukraine proceeded to sink its navy flagship to prevent it from falling into Russian hands.
The commander of the Ukrainian Navy complied with the order to sink the flagship of the frigate Hetman Sagaidachny, which was under repair, to prevent it from falling into Russian hands, Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said.
