Two young drivers in Paphos test positive for narcotics
Two drivers were found last night driving under the influence of drugs in Paphos, according to the Police, as part of a campaign to prevent road collisions.
According to a spokesman for the Paphos Police Directorate, they are a 33-year-old man and a 27-year-old man. The two vehicles were stopped by members of the Paphos Traffic Police for a relevant check. When their drivers were subjected to a drug test it was found that they tested positive. An additional sample was taken from both drivers to be sent for laboratory tests to the State General Chemistry Laboratory.
The vehicles of the 33-year-old and the 27-year-old were taken to the Paphos Central Police Station, while they were dismissed pending final tests by the State General Chemistry Laboratory.
Meanwhile, as part of the checks yesterday, a total of 34 complaints were made in the city and on the secondary road network.
Of the 34 complaints, two relate to driving under the influence of drugs, two to driving under the influence of alcohol, while the rest relate to traffic offences of a minor nature. The campaigns of the Paphos Police Directorate will continue at a later stage.
