The Fire brigade was on the run last night for two incidents of fire in houses in Xylofagou and Limassol.

According to Fire Service spokesman Andreas Kettis, the first incident occurred around 9pm, when a fire broke out in the living room kitchen of a private residence in the Xylofagou community.[/B]

The fire was extinguished by neighbours before force members arrived on the scene. It is estimated that the fire was caused by a cigarette butt.

In the second case, the fire broke out in a fireplace flue of a private prefabricated house in Limassol at around 11pm.

The fire extended to masonry inside the house and was extinguished by members of the force who rushed to the scene. Fortunately, the fire did not endanger anyone.
