The Speaker of the House of Representatives Anita Demetriou had a meeting on Monday, with a four-member delegation of the Cyprus Nursing and Midwifery Council, during which issues of concern to the sector were discussed.
According to a statement by the House of Representatives, during the meeting, the difficulty of finding a sufficient number of nurses and midwives to cover both existing and future needs of public and private hospitals was highlighted and there was an exchange of views on possible solutions to ensure that the level of training of nurses and midwives is maintained at the same high level.
The President of the Parliament, it is noted, "expressed the will of both herself personally and the entire body to assist in finding ways to mitigate the problem, always focusing on the provision of high quality health services for the benefit of the patient".
