As we are informed, the 37-year-old told the investigators that on Wednesday, before the infant was born, he returned home from work and because the baby was crying incessantly, he shook it vigorously and as a result, as it seems, damage was caused which led to the baby's death.
It is recalled that according to the forensic examination of the unfortunate little girl's body, her death was caused by malicious traumatic craniocerebral injury from an act, or acts involving violent shaking of the infant, with or without impact on a blunt surface. Known as Shaken Impact Syndrome.

As is known, the 37-year-old father and the 22-year-old woman are in custody under a court order.
As reported to us, following the father's surrender, the offence against him remains that of manslaughter.
As reported in a previous report by the Cyprus Times, investigators are attempting to clarify whether the infant from the very beginning of his life was a victim of repeated abuse or whether it was a one-off and on the other hand they are focusing on the second child of the family, a 3-year-old boy, who was taken to relatives.
