"I was not afraid of death", the perpetrator wrote on social media and then killed the 40-year-old woman and committed suicide
As a possessive, jealous and a man who often caused problems and fights, described the boxer who "burst in" last night holding a short-barreled shotgun at the chippuradiko owned by his former partner in Thessaloniki and after shooting her in the abdomen, turned the gun on himself, ending his life.
Neighbours, friends and those who knew 40-year-old Vicky well, who was taken in serious condition to Papageorgiou Hospital and died in the early hours of the morning, speak of a quiet woman, who had recently been trying to remove both from her shop and from her life, the 41-year-old boxer, Leontis Vorria, with whom she used to have a relationship. "As soon as we heard gunshots and shouting we immediately understood that something happened with Vicky and him," said people in the neighborhood on Papafi Street, speaking to protothema.gr.
The 41-year-old perpetrator who killed his former partner, just before turning the gun on him, managed to injure her daughter, who along with her sister saw the murderous attack their mother received.
In fact, Leontis Vorrias, about an hour before he arrived holding the gun in his hands at the Vicky's cafe ouzo at 41 Papafi Street, had made a shocking post on his personal Facebook account, saying that he was not afraid of death. "Closer and closer to the last race the only thing I've never been afraid of is death I don't know what you guys are doing," was his last comment, shortly before he stormed into the shop with a gun and killed the 40-year-old mother of three.

"They had recently broken up and he threatened her frequently and even mentioned he was going to kill her. There were frequent incidents in the cafe between them, so we knew as soon as we heard gunshots that something happened with Vicky," a man who knew the owner well told protothema.gr. In fact, several people reported that the victim had filed an injunction to get rid of the 41-year-old.
The MMA athlete, after shooting Vicki in the abdomen, then turned the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, ending his life. The shooting left the athlete's ex-partner's daughter slightly injured in the back, who was taken to hospital.
In fact, at the time of the tragedy, many people were on their way to the store where the victim kept his shop in order to watch the football match that was about to start in a few minutes.
"I heard gunshots and a woman screaming and I knew immediately that something bad had happened. I froze and stopped walking and a few minutes later I saw the police arriving outside the store," a store patron, who at the time of the incident was a few meters away, told protothema.gr.
A few hours earlier, Viki M. had posted a photo on her Facebook account that read: Find out how: To have fun without drinking, to talk without a cell phone, to dream without drugs, to smile without taking a selfie, to love selflessly, without, of course, being able to imagine what would happen shortly afterwards.
Who was Leontis Vorrias
The 41-year-old athlete had been in the media a few years ago and initially grabbed the spotlight when he volunteered to help extinguish the fires raging in East Attica in 2018 and when he placed the Cross at Apeli in Mytilene in October of the same year.
The perpetrator was a boxer originally from Chios, a champion of Submission Martial Arts (MMA) and, as shown by his photos, had close ties to the Nazi group Golden Dawn. In fact, in many of his photographs he appears with leading members of the criminal organisation and during demonstrations on the Macedonian issue. He frequently posted on social networks against the coronavirus vaccines.
