Traffic was interrupted after a call about a bomb at Monastiraki and Syntagma, where the control center is located. For this reason, all stations were closed and trains remained stationary without passengers

Traffic was restored on all Metro lines (1, 2 and 3) shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, about two hours after initial calls about the placement of explosive devices at "Syntagma" and "Monastiraki" stations. The trains are now running normally throughout the entire network of fixed-track trains.

The reason for the inconvenience to passengers were calls from unidentified persons who informed about the placement of explosive devices at Syntagma and Monastiraki stations, which would explode, one behind the other, shortly after 3:30 and at 4:15.

By order of the National Police, all stations of Metro Lines 2 and 3 were evacuated and closed, as well as the Operation Control Center, which is located in Syntagma. The trains remained stationary at the stations, without passengers.

Initially, shortly before 5:30 in the afternoon, traffic on Metro Line 1 (Electric) was restored, which was temporarily running on the sections Piraeus - Thiseio and Omonia - Kifissia.
