Twenty complaints for violation of measures against coronavirus in the last 24 hours

Five business managers and 15 persons were reported in the last 24 hours by the police in a total of 1,947 checks nationwide for violation of the Infectious Diseases Act.

In the last 24 hours, up to 06:00 on Wednesday morning, a total of 1,947 checks were carried out across Cyprus, which resulted in a total of 20 complaints and extrajudicial fines of €500 €1,500 were served.

In the Nicosia district, seven people and three businesses were reported during 503 checks. In particular, the managers of a kiosk and an office were found during the inspection to be working without a SafePass. They were fined €500 each.[/B] A restaurant was also fined €1,500 because an employee was found to be working without a SafePass.

In Limassol, two people were reported while a fine of €750 was served on the manager of a clothing store when it was found that customers were not being checked for SafePasses at the entrance to the business. A total of 220 checks were carried out in the province.

A fine of €500 was also imposed on a café in Larnaca where an employee was found to be working without a SafePass, while a citizen was also reported during the 422 checks carried out in the province.

In Paphos, two people were reported during 97 checks, and three in Famagusta province where 380 checks were carried out. No complaints were made during 183 checks in the Morphou district.

There were also 140 traffic checks and two by the Port and Maritime Police with no complaints.
