Total prison sentence of 2 years, with a three-year suspension, imposed by the Trial Plenary Court of Thessaloniki on the 43-year-old woman who was found walking around without a mask while threatening, insulting and spitting on police officers.

According to GRTIMES, the accused did not appear in court and was not represented by a lawyer. She was found guilty of violating measures to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases, insulting, threatening, etc. In his testimony, the police officer witness described the incident.

"She told us that she just got out of jail and was not afraid of anyone. She did not seem to be on drugs and had psychological problems. She knew what she was doing."

During her closing argument, the prosecutor recommended that she be found guilty, according to the indictment, of all the offenses charged. The court adopted the prosecution's proposal and sentenced her to the above-mentioned prison sentence.

The 43-year-old woman was arrested on 28 December from Filippou Street, in the centre of Thessaloniki. The woman was not wearing a protective mask and when the police officers fined her, she insulted them, threatened them and finally spat on them.
