This year again the established March of Love for the National Archbishop Makarios

The Historical Cultural Center Panagia organized again this year the established March of Love for the National Prince Makarios[/B] on the day of his name day. It was preceded by a religious memorial service presided over by Metropolitan George of Pafos at the holy monastery of Chrysorogiatis.

The government was represented by the Director General of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, Stavros Michael, who described the national hero Makarios as an ecclesiastical and national personality and one of the most important chapters in the modern history of the country.

Michael noted that despite the challenges we face, the struggle of the Greek Cypriot side and the President of the Republic is continuous and tireless, until the restoration of human rights and the conditions of peace and prosperity for the entire Cypriot people are achieved. The vision of Archbishop Makarios to ensure, he concluded, the natural and national survival of Hellenism in Cyprus is a historical duty that we are called upon to fulfill.

After the end of the memorial service, a march followed from Chrysorrogryatissa Monastery to Panagia, the birthplace of the National Archbishop Makarios.
