The bilateral partnership between Cyprus and the USUS partnership and the prospects for regional cooperation on energy issues were discussed during a meeting between Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides and State Department adviser on energy security policy issues Amos Hockstein, in Washington on Thursday.
Kasoulides, who is wrapping up his visit to the US, wrote on his Twitter account that he had "een a useful meeting" with Mr. Hockstein."
"Exchange of views on clean energy cooperation, Cyprus-US bilateral partnership, prospects for regional cooperation on energy issues," he added."
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry had posted a tweet saying that Mr. Kasoulides had a "productive meeting" with President Gregory Meeks and members of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee.
The Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude for the bipartisan support for deepening the Cyprus-US relationship, the 3+1 cooperation mechanism and a "viable solution to the Cyprus problem in accordance with UN resolutions."
