The President of the Republic will meet with the heir to the Abu Dhabi throne

The President of the Republic is scheduled to meet with the heir to the Abu Dhabi throne, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Wednesday, Nicos Anastasiades, who has been in Dubai since Monday evening, at the head of a large delegation, where a Business Forum will be held on 24 February in the presence of the President of the Republic, who will be one of the speakers.

The meeting between the President of the Republic and the Crown Prince will take place at the Abu Dhabi Palace and during the meeting President Anastasiades is expected to brief the UAE side on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem and the Varosha issue, on the Confidence Building Measures submitted by the Greek Cypriot side and its efforts to resume the negotiation process, as well as on the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is noted that the UAE is a Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council.

President Anastasiades will be accompanied during his visit by, among others, the Ministers of Finance, Defence, Energy, Energy, Transport, Agriculture, the Deputy Ministers of Innovation, Shipping, Tourism, the Deputy Minister to the President and the Deputy Government Spokesperson. In Dubai, President Anastasiades will also attend and welcome an event to mark Cyprus' National Day at EXPO 2020.

In addition, Ministers and Deputy Ministers accompanying President Anastasiades will hold bilateral consultations with their counterparts from the United Arab Emirates.

Cyprus' participation is coordinated by the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, in cooperation with the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus).




The exhibition, which has as its central theme "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future", aims to establish a global platform for agreements and international partnerships and is expected to attract around 25 million visitors, with participants from 192 countries. Visitors to the Cypriot pavilion are welcomed by a hologram of the goddess Aphrodite, taking them on a journey through the island's history.
