The protocol for the "test to stay" in the National Guard is expected to be submitted to the Cabinet

The procedure for the "test to stay" measure in the National Guard is expected to be submitted on Wednesday to the Cabinet for approval.


Defence Ministry spokesman Christos Pieris told the Cyprus News Agency that Defence Minister, Haralambos Petrides, will submit to the Council of Ministers a proposal for approval of the procedure for the implementation of the test to stay measure in the National Guard.

The Cabinet eixed last week an extension of the measure, already applied in schools, to the National Guard, and today is expected to approve the protocol to be followed.

The Minister of Health, Michael Hadjipandela, is not expected to take part in the Cabinet meeting scheduled for 10:00, having been recently diagnosed with Covid-19.

According to information from the Ministry of Health, next Tuesday, Mr. Hadjipandela will have a meeting at 07:40 with members of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and later the same day, around 9:00, he will go to Cabinet.

The Minister of Health will receive the recommendations of the SAC members during the week and they will be discussed on Tuesday.
