ETEK discussed individual issues of its competence with the Speaker of the Parliament
Individual issues of the competence of the Cyprus Scientific Technical Chamber (ETEK) were discussed at a meeting of the Speaker of the Parliament, Anita Demetriou, with a four-member delegation of the Chamber which consisted of the President, Konstantinos Konstantis, the Vice Presidents, Andreas Theodorou and Elise Vassiliou, as well as the Scientific Officer of ETEK, Myrto Voreakou.
According to a statement by the House of Representatives, during the meeting, which was entirely constructive, the strengthening of relations between the House of Representatives and ETEK was discussed, as well as the need to utilize the Chamber as the institutionalized technical advisor of the state.
Individual issues within the competence of ETEC were also discussed and concerns and distortions were highlighted, in particular on the framework for the implementation of public sector projects, the way development permits are issued, the licensing of electrical engineers and the licensing procedure for strategic investments.
Finally, the need to promote and enact the relevant legislation to improve and resolve these issues was noted, the statement said.
