The case of Dimitris Masias and referee Andreas Konstantinos has come to an end with suspension of criminal proceedings
The case file has been officially closed following the withdrawal of the key prosecution witness
.It will be recalled that the main witness was the President of Othello who decided to withdraw the complaint and as a result the case in court was "dropped."
According to the facts of the case, the President of Othello had made a complaint regarding his team's match against Ayia Napa, which took place on February 8, 2020, citing attempts to manipulate the match in favor of Ayia Napa.
The two faced charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and manipulation of a sporting event, while the 39-year-old was also charged with manipulation of a sporting event, bribery for tampering with the outcome of a sporting event, attempted manipulation of a sporting event and incompatibility.
