The increase in the number of refugees comes as a follow-up to the evacuation operation in the northeastern city of Sami and the city of Irpin near the capital Kiev.
The evacuation was launched after Russia and Ukraine agreed to create humanitarian corridors to allow civilians to be evacuated from war-torn areas.
See Sky News' map of the countries to which refugees from Ukraine have headed. It does not include refugees who moved to non-EU countries (210,000) and Russia (53,300).
