Strong winds prevail in Paphos since dawn Fire brigade runs from incident to incident Tree falls All information

Tree falls occurred at dawn, on three occasions in Paphos province due to strong winds blowing since midnight.

In all three cases, crews of the Fire Service intervened, cut and removed the trees from the roadway.

The first cypress fall occurred on Athens Avenue just outside the fire service building. Firefighters, using the appropriate equipment, cut down the tree and cleared the road.

Two other cypress trees also fell on a road between Geroskipou and Koloni, in the coastal area.

The trees hit cables of the AHK, which however did not cut them.

Synergy of the AHK and the fire department rushed to the scene and removed the felled trees.

Another tree was also uprooted in the village of Kannaviou and fell on the roadway. Firefighters cut down the tree and the road is now used by all vehicles.
