From the examination of images recorded by closed circuit cameras[/b] installed in the area, police conclude that there was criminal negligence by the driver of the vehicle that lured the victim while she was lying on the roadway.
As shown in the images captured[/b] by cameras the unfortunate woman was attempting to cross Priamou Street shortly after 9pm on Sunday 19 December. A vehicle struck her sideways and she ended up injured on the asphalt while the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
A second vehicle, a few seconds later, hit her and fatally injured her.
The Police believe that the driver of the second vehicle is the 44-year-old who has been arrested and has been referred for trial before the Paphos Criminal Court, which will sit on February 3, 2022.
