Teachers in the occupied territories appeal to the courts over the decisions of the epidemiological "committee" What the guilds of T/C teachers report

The guilds of T/C teachers consider illegal and invalid, KTÖS and KTOEÖS, the latest decisions of the "infectious diseases committee" of the "health ministry" on the pandemic, criticizing the "government" for imposing political decisions on the "committee" for party and election reasons.

Considering that they are harmed by these decisions, the two guilds say in a joint statement that they will take legal action.

The guilds claim that the "ministries of education and health" are ignoring the increasing cases and absences of students from schools, while the "committee" makes decisions on contacts of outbreaks that endanger public health and are against the "law". They note that while physical classes continue in schools, the "education minister", Olgun Amziyaoglu, praised the private educational group Near East because students there take classes at a distance.

Meanwhile, according to a report by Yeni Dusen, schools are in chaos as many students did not show up in classes as they are either cases or contacts.

According to the president of the T/C teachers' guild, Ozan Elmaly, in secondary education there are currently 665 students suffering from COVID-19 and 1769 who are contacts. Also, many classrooms are closed and he believes that under these conditions no face-to-face lessons can be held, moreover he believes, as he says, that it is very dangerous for both students and teachers. In 20 schools at the moment, he added, there is tele-education.
