Last night CEC President Faiz Suzhouoglu had a second meeting with the CL with Kudret Ozersai stating today that it is not politically ethical to hold parallel negotiations. Ozersai advocated the formation of a bipartisan "government", i.e. JCC - CL, as he believes that tripartite formations cannot work effectively. He said that he was discussing a bilateral cooperation with the CEC.
Mr. Ojersai also conveyed to the CEC a text containing 5-6 questions on governance in case of their cooperation, asking the CEC to respond. Citing his experience in the tripartite format in which the CL participated in the past, Qudret Ozersai said when there are some problems, the solution should not be to dissolve the "government", but to find a way to overcome the problems.
In a statement today on Yeni Dusen's website, the CEC chairman said that by tonight the situation may become clearer. The CA, he said, has from the outset put forward a demand that the "ministry of transport and communications" take over the "directorates" of ports and insurance companies.
Speaking to the outlawed "Bayrak" this morning, CI chairman Fikri Ataoglu said he has conveyed their positions to the CEC and they are waiting for its reaction.
CEC chairman Faiz Suzhouoglu received the order to form a "government" on Tuesday last week. The mandate has a duration of 15 days.
