Concern and discomfort is expressed by the Turkish Cypriot leader, commenting on the information reported earlier by CNA about the National Guard's aspirations to purchase an anti-missile system.
Ersin Tatar told the Turkish Cypriot news agency that such actions increase tension on the island and called on the Greek Cypriot side to be rational.
"It makes no sense for them to adopt an aggressive stance and forget that they are taking on the Turkish Republic," the Turkish Cypriot leader said, warning that there would be a Turkish reaction as "as a guarantor country, Turkey has the right to speak and act."
He even linked the information to the establishment of the Cyprus-Kurdish Solidarity Association, which propaganda claims that it is a branch of the PYD and PKK in Cyprus.
He spoke of actions that point to... mistakes of the past and that the balance in the Eastern Mediterranean is fragile.
