The Meteorological Service has issued an orange warning for prolonged showers and severe thunderstorms.
The orange warning will be in effect from 9 p.m. tomorrow until 1 p.m. next Monday.

The weather forecast:
Stable weather conditions are affecting the region, while a low pressure system centered near Rhodes is moving slowly east and will affect the region from late Saturday night through Monday.
Tonight the weather will be partly cloudy and partly cloudy at times, with localized showers or thunderstorms expected. Locally, in the higher mountains, some snowfall is expected. Winds will be southwest to west, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, but light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort in windy areas. The sea will be slightly choppy to choppy but in the west and locally in the north to choppy. Temperatures will drop to around 5 degrees inland, around 9 on the south and east coasts, around 14 on the west and north coasts and around zero in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form.
Tomorrow, periods of sunshine will alternate with clouds, which are expected to produce isolated showers, mainly in the western half of the island. Winds will be southwest to west, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally on the coast up to strong, 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly choppy to choppy and in the west and north, in the morning, choppy. Temperatures will rise to around 18 degrees inland and on the coast and around 8 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow night, gradual showers are expected in most areas, as well as isolated thunderstorms. Snowfall is expected in the higher mountains. The phenomena will be locally prolonged or even intense. Winds will be mainly south to southwest, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually becoming moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort and locally very strong, 6 Beaufort. The sea will initially be choppy to choppy, becoming later choppy offshore and choppy downwind.
On Sunday, the weather will be cloudy, with showers and local thunderstorms and snow in the higher mountains. The phenomena are expected to be prolonged or even intense in places, while a very strong to strong southwest wind is expected mainly on the coast.
On Monday, the weather will be unsettled with local showers and isolated thunderstorms as well as snow in the higher mountains, but from the afternoon onwards a noticeable improvement is expected. On Tuesday, local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, but from early evening the weather will improve.
The temperature is not expected to show any significant change until Sunday, to be close to or slightly below average climatic values. On Monday, a slight drop in temperature is expected to be below average climatological values. On Tuesday, a slight increase in temperature is expected.
