Russian aircraft bombed the Lavra of Svyatogorsk in the Donetsk region, Ukrinform reports citing a Ukrainian border guard's Telegram post, accompanied by relevant images.

"The invaders hit the Svyatogorsk Lavra in the Donetsk region," this post reads.

According to Volodymyr Ribalkin, head of an NGO in the area, the airstrike occurred at 11:05 on Saturday night. "They struck the women's room. Right now, dead and wounded are being pulled out of the rubble," Ribalkin said.

According to reports, women and children were at the scene of the attack. There is no information on the number of casualties.

The Lavra of the Assumption of Our Lady of Svyatogorsk is a 13th century monastery belonging to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and is home to the relics of St. John the Hermit of Svyatogorsk.
