The Russian president accepted the proposal of Tayyip Erdogan.Earlier, the Turkish president stressed that he is ready to receive Putin and Zelensky to restore the climate of peace
Vladimir Putin is planning a visit to Turkey, accepting Tayyip Erdogan's invitation "as soon as the conditions of the pandemic and the work schedules of the presidents of the two countries allow," Dmitry Peskov said earlier today.
The Kremlin spokesman noted that the issue of Putin's visit to Turkey has been repeatedly discussed in recent contacts between the two leaders amid escalating tensions over Ukraine.
According to Peskov, the Putin-Erdoğan meeting will be about bilateral relations between Russia and Turkey. "President Putin gladly accepted the invitation. They decided that it will take place as soon as allowed by the circumstances of the pandemic and their work schedule," Peskov said.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier that he invited the Russian leader to visit Turkey, reiterating Ankara's readiness to receive both Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky "if both parties so desire" so that they can "continue to move towards restoring an atmosphere of peace."
