The President of the Democratic Union, Mr. Averof Neophytou and a delegation of the party, in the framework of the round table discussion of the pre-conference dialogue on the prospects and future of the Cypriot wine industry. Participants included the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy, Mrs. Natasha Pilidou, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the OEB.
During the discussion, the prospects of the Cypriot wine sector were discussed, both in terms of the progress that the sector has made in recent years and the challenges related mainly to the further increase in the production of indigenous varieties, in order to further increase the coverage of both the domestic market and exports.
The common thread was the conclusion that branding and the emergence of further ways of promotion abroad and in international markets are the way forward for the country's wine sector.
The points raised by all those present at today's debate will be codified as part of the broader pre-conference dialogue of the Democratic Rally.
