Road works in Nicosia and Larnaca were announced today by the Department of Public Works, which urges the public to show the necessary understanding and comply with temporary road markings and police instructions.
In particular, the Nicosia District Engineer's Office, Department of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced paving works on Makarios Avenue, Nicosia and works on the central island of Australia Avenue, Larnaca.
In relation to the paving works on Makarios Avenue, the Nicosia District Engineer's Office announces that on Saturday 29/1/2022, from 07:00 in the morning until 05:00 in the morning of Monday 31/01/2022, on Makarios Avenue, from the junction of the traffic lights of Aglantzia Avenue to the junction with Drama Street, all lanes will be closed due to paving works.
During the works, drivers heading towards the city centre are advised to use Armenia Avenue to get to their destination.
Drivers heading out of the city are advised to use Karpenissiou Street.
Drivers travelling on Kennedy Avenue and wishing to head towards the city centre are advised to use Karpenissiou Street, while those heading towards Limassol are advised to use Agia Paraskevi Street.
Regarding the works on the central island of Australia Avenue, Larnaca, the Larnaca District Engineer's Office announces that during the period 31/1/2022 - 18/2/2022, between the hours of 07:00 15:00, daily except Saturday and Sunday, works will be carried out on the central island of Australia Avenue, Larnaca, in both directions.
During the execution of the works, the express lane of the road will be partially closed for approximately 200 m and traffic will be diverted to the slow lane of the motorway.
The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and urges the public to show due understanding and comply with the temporary road signs and the instructions of the Police.
