A 24-year-old girl has taken legal action against three people, who are accused of spreading online, without her knowledge, a photo of her naked!
The whole affair began to unfold in a village in Rhodes, when she was at the age of 16.
Already the criminal part of the case is in full swing and in early summer it will be heard by the Single Municipal Court of Rhodes, while in early February 2022, the 24-year-old filed a lawsuit for unlawful processing of personal data and invasion of personality at the Rhodes Court of First Instance (special procedure for property disputes).
The lawsuit is directed against three individuals, of which the opela asks to be paid the sum of 60,000 euros as compensation for the moral damage she has suffered.
According to the lawsuit, the story began in 2014, when the then 16-year-old girl met a boy her age with whom she entered into a platonic relationship.
During this and as they did not go any further, her then boyfriend allegedly asked her to send him in a private message a photo of her depicting herself naked.
The then boy - according to the girl - was pushy about it, as, she said, this way she would "prove her love" to him.
The girl, who was a minor at the time, actually sent the photo on the condition that after her then boyfriend saw it, he would destroy it immediately.
She says in her lawsuit that this did not happen and was even informed a few years later by a friend who told her that "some people were 'spreading' her naked photo online without her permission".
After a police investigation, it turned out that the photo, which - according to the complainant - was in the exclusive possession of her ex-boyfriend (with whom she had broken up a short time later), "sent it in the form of a sick "game" to a friend of his, until it came into the possession of a third person".
In fact, it has also been filed with the competent authorities by one of the three people involved that all this was done as part of a "game" that was then taking place in the area, but without the consent of the girl.
The latter even points out several times in the same lawsuit that her ex-boyfriend was obliged to delete the photo immediately, as on that condition, she had sent it to him and that was the agreement they had made.
However, the whole incident had the effect of damaging the honour and reputation of the now 24-year-old girl, as her photo was seen by an unknown number of people, which had serious consequences for her health and especially her psychology. She says in her lawsuit that she had to attend psychotherapies to cope with the whole situation.
" I have been left with feelings of profound sadness, bitterness, sadness, agitation and anxiety. I have been humiliated and played with my mental and emotional world. They belittled me by treating me like an immoral woman and even with a nude photograph depicting me naked as a teenager, i.e. as a minor," the girl says in her lawsuit, adding that:
"I have been in a miserable psychological state since then, as I do not know how many people the defendants have disseminated the above photo without my consent or how many people have shown it or whether it exists somewhere on the internet."
The case will be examined as to the part of the claim in the coming period by the court, while the criminal part of the case in which the girl's ex-boyfriend and a friend of his are accused will be heard in early summer 2022 by the Single Municipal Court of Rhodes.
