Renewal and increased participation of women and youth in new General Council, says PEPO
The 28th Pancyprian Congress of the PEO, held on 9 and 10 December 2021, elected the new General Council of the Federation, in which there was a significant renewal with increased participation of women and young people, says the relevant announcement of the PEO.
Specifically specifies that 42 members or 37.8% were elected for the first time.
According to the results of the election of the 111 elected members (14 members of the G.Board are ex-officio and do not need election), all 26 women on the ballot were elected (23.4%), the average age of General Council members has been significantly reduced (up to 30 years old, 5 members; from 31 to 40, 38 members; from 41 to 50, 36 members; from 51 to 60,44 members; and over 60, 6 members".
The PEO also clarifies that the results of the election did not require triggering the provision in the bylaws that establishes a quota of participation of executives from production of at least 15% (27 members or 24.3% were elected).
