\NThe pseudo-state can become an observer to the OCT, says Cavusoglu What he said in an interview with the Turkish channel T24
The criteria for observer and partnership status in the Organization of Turkish States have been set and the Pseudo-state can become an observer of the Organization according to the criteria, the Turkish Foreign Minister said in an interview with the Turkish channel T24.
Mr. Cavusoglu recalled that at the 8th session the Organization defined not only these criteria but also its vision until 2040. Under Turkey's chairmanship, he said, the Organization will grow even more and Russia should not see it or its members as antagonistic.
According to WFP, referring to the Eastern Mediterranean and asked about the appointment of ambassadors to Israel and Egypt, Mr. Cavusoglu said that he did not share the view that the ambassador alone, at this stage, can improve relations, which have long since broken down, noting that "this is a decision taken after relations reached a certain level"
Turkey, he continued, has never been an anti-Semitic country, adding that statements against Israel have only increased because of Israel's aggression.
Asked whether or not he believes that Egypt's choice to "act together with Greece and the Greek side" in the Eastern Mediterranean will change in the future, Mevlut Cavusoglu argued that the Greek side likes to procrastinate and has the mentality, 'let the negotiations begin, the pseudo-state and Turkey will not take a step in the Eastern Mediterranean, they will not take a step in the Eastern Mediterranean, and eventually we will turn the table and another ten years will pass'. "We can't take it anymore like this. We put an end to it. In Crans Montana we said, 'This is the last negotiation for a federation. From now on, we will not negotiate federation.'"
On Egypt-Turkey relations, he said a new page has been turned. "And even if it is not progressing as fast as we wish, it has turned around"
Earlier, he added, they had gone an apparent distance with Egypt on the issue of delimiting maritime zones in the Eastern Mediterranean, noting that this effort was put on hold after they broke off relations. Egypt would benefit more from an agreement on maritime competences between the two countries, Cavusoglu said.
\NIn response to a question about Greece's purchase of arms from the US, the Turkish minister expressed the opinion that the US has always so far pursued a balanced policy regarding Cyprus, the Eastern Mediterranean and Greek-Turkish relations and recalled that they should not spoil this expectation.
"Greece is trying to waste its money on armaments in a reckless way. When you look at its economy, Greece cannot afford this. When you look at the justifications, they say 'the threats are coming from Turkey', but the threat is Greece itself. We always act according to international law."
Claiming that Greece wants to escalate the tension in the Aegean by making different provocative statements every day, Cavusoglu said that "on the one hand the Greek Cypriot side, on the other hand the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister in Greece are making provocative statements and steps. They should realize that these are very dangerous."
Asked about the increase of the US military presence in Alexandroupolis, Mevlut Cavusoglu replied that the US should avoid steps that could upset the balance. "We are all members of NATO. There should not be a double standard on the issue of solidarity among NATO members."
Meanwhile, it was reported that Turkish Presidency spokesman Ibrahim Kalin sent a letter to Washington on the formation of a mechanism for bilateral relations as agreed upon by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and US President Joe Biden.
