Schoolgirls were threatened for displaying flags with LGBTI community signs
A homophobic incident occurred at a school in Thessaloniki a few days ago, which prompted the intervention of a prosecutor.
Two female students reported that they received threats and verbal attacks from their classmates when they displayed flags with LGBTI community insignia while exchanging gifts in view of the school holidays.Based on the reports,
the head of the Thessaloniki Prosecutor's Office ordered a preliminary investigation to be conducted by the Security Department, with the investigated offences of damage, illegal violence and any other offence that may arise.
Students, parents and others involved will be called to testify as part of the investigation.
