The proper education of young people is the highest priority of society, said the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anita Demetriou, who met on Friday with a delegation of the Pancyprian Confederation of Federations of Associations of Parents of Public Secondary Schools.

According to a statement by the Parliament, the meeting discussed the problems faced by secondary school students and focused on the evaluation process of four-year students, students with an immigrant biography and the operating regulations of secondary schools.

Mrs. Demetriou welcomed the action of the confederation and expressed her full support for its work, stressing that the proper education of young people is a top priority for society as a whole, she said.

It also took the initiative to implement targeted actions to familiarise students with the work and functioning of the House of Representatives, the statement concludes.
