The President of the Republic, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades convenes a meeting of the National Council for 1 March 2022.

According to the Deputy Government Spokesperson, Nivi Parisinou, during the meeting, the President of the Republic will brief the members of the National Council on the latest developments on the Cyprus problem and his initiatives to break the deadlock.

It is recalled that General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, called for the convening of the National Council in a letter to President Anastasiades, noting that such a serious issue as the MoU "requires first of all information, consultation and exchange of views with the political leadership".
