The Cyprus issue, regional developments, bilateral relations between Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), energy issues and EU-UAE relations are on the agenda of the meeting that the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, will have today at the palace in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, with Prince Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nayhan, Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nayhan. The meeting is scheduled for 11am local time (9am Cyprus time).

President Anastasiades, who will be travelling to Abu Dhabi from Dubai, where he is leading a delegation including Ministers, Deputy Ministers and other state officials, is expected to be accompanied at the meeting by the Ministers of Finance and Energy, the Deputy Minister to the President, the Director of his Diplomatic Office, and the Cypriot Ambassador to the UAE.

After the meeting, the President and his entourage will return to Dubai, where tomorrow, Thursday, the President and other members of the Cypriot delegation will visit the EXPO 2020 exhibition, where there is a Cyprus Pavilion, and participate in an event to mark Cyprus' National Day, which will be welcomed by President Anastasiades.

On the same day, a Business Forum will also be held in the presence of the President of the Republic, who will be one of the speakers.

As part of President Anastasiades' visit to Dubai, Cyprus and the UAE will sign MoUs for cooperation in maritime transport, cyber security and diplomatic training.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Dubai by the Ministers of Finance, Energy, Defence, Agriculture and Transport, the Deputy Ministers of Tourism, Shipping, Research, the Deputy Minister to the President and the Deputy Government Spokesperson. Apart from the government officials, Cypriot businessmen are also in Dubai.
