THE VOTE
I have been informed of the serious problems created by the inadequate protection measures taken against the Covid-19 pandemic in school units, as well as the unjustified and undocumented different treatment of pre-primary, special and primary education. As a result of the above, there is insufficient safety for children, teachers and staff within school units, especially during periods of pandemic outbreak.
The Ministry of Education bears sole responsibility for safety and health issues in school units, which should and must manage them more directly and effectively.
I authorize the Board of Directors of the P.O.E.D. to:
1. Prevent any undocumented separation between special, pre-primary and primary education;
2. Demand the guarantee of health and safety conditions in our schools,
3. Demand the proper and smooth operation of our schools,
by all legal means it deems appropriate, not excluding strike measures.
