Cyprus Police Association (CPA), SYPYK and PASYDY announced late Friday that they feel once again vindicated for the approval by the Parliament of the Regulations for the salary upgrade of members of the Police and Fire Service which they consider of historic importance for the rights of their concerned members.
The realization of the long-standing objective of upgrading the ranks of Police Officers from the rank of Special Police Officer to the rank of Senior Lieutenant and respectively of Firemen from the rank of Fireman to the rank of Firefighter is the result of the methodical and intense efforts of the two Associations and PASYDY and constitute a vindication and reward for all their efforts towards this end, they further state.
They also call upon their members to unity and rally for the defence and extension of their rights and publicly express their thanks to the Ministers of Finance & Justice, the Directors General of the two Ministries and the Chief of Police for their entire contribution in reaching the agreement for the upgrade.
They also extend their thanks to the House of Representatives for its understanding of the just demands of our members by passing the relevant regulations.
