As part of her visit to the Margarita Liasidou Foundation in Paphos, Demetriou was asked about the possibility of the House having to meet in the event of a referral, even during the festive season, and replied "I cannot know, but the House by rules and procedures is obliged to meet". We are waiting to see what will happen, she said, noting that at the moment she does not have any information in this regard.
In her remarks to reporters, Demetriou said she had heard about the "God-given work that is being done" and wanted, she said, to get to know the Margarita Liasidou Foundation and discuss some challenges and problems. We have received, she continued, "a lot of love and it is really excellent work and these children feel the Foundation as their home and that is very important."
For his part, Metropolitan George of Paphos and Chairman of the Board of the Margarita Liasidou Foundation thanked the Speaker of Parliament for visiting "some children who need special care." These are days of love and we are practicing, she said, in our own measure what God came to teach us. We come, he continued, to some children who are in need of us these days to give them some joy and also to take from their joy.
