The Inspection Service conducts a campaign to combat undeclared work

A nationwide campaign of inspections for combating undeclared work and compliance with labour laws is being conducted in the month of February by the Inspection Service of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance, as part of its efforts to monitor compliance with basic labour legislation.

A statement from the Service says that the purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness among all those involved in these economic activities of the consequences of undeclared work and non-compliance with the provisions of the relevant legislation.

At the same time, checks will be carried out on compliance with basic employment conditions such as wages, working hours, weekly off, etc.

It is noted that, according to the provisions of the relevant Legislation, in case of detection of an undeclared person in the Social Insurance Fund, an administrative fine of €500 multiplied by 7 months will be issued, unless it is proven by the employer that the period of violation was shorter.

If it is proved that the infringement period was longer, the fine shall be multiplied by the actual months.

It is also recalled that the nationwide telephone line 77778577 accepts anonymous/anonymous complaints/information in connection with undeclared work or violation of the terms of employment.
