Pancyprian anguish over the death of the 17-month-old boy in Limassol The tragic circumstances of the little angel's death are under investigation He drowned while eating a slice of bread Today the necropsy

The necropsy[/B] on the body of the unfortunate 17-month-old boy, who died in Limassol while eating a slice of bread, is expected to reveal the exact cause of death. The autopsy will be carried out today by coroner Angeliki Papetta at Nicosia Hospital.

The 17-month-old angel was the youngest of a family of Greek Cypriots who are mourning his loss. The unfortunate baby passed away just before noon yesterday and while he was in a specially designed nursery in the home of a kindergarten teacher who was looking after him, plunging not only his family but also the whole of Cyprus into mourning.

As mentioned in a previous article, the tragic facts of the case have been before the police from the very first moment, according to which the kindergarten teacher gave the baby a slice of bread that his mother had put in his mouth and cut it into pieces, as she claimed in her statement to the police. Subsequently, while the child was eating, she realised that he was choking and, according to her claims, she tried to remove the bread from his mouth with her hands.

Her efforts were in vain.

The police are investigating whether the kindergarten teacher was present during the whole time the baby was eating or coming and going, as we are informed that there were three other babies in her house at that time.

Despite the woman's efforts, it appears that it was not possible to help the little boy. She called an ambulance which transported the unconscious child to the First Aid Department of the Limassol General Hospital. As we were told, for some time the doctors on duty attempted to revive the unfortunate child. Even they themselves could not believe that the little angel had "passed away".

Members of the Limassol CID went immediately to the site for examinations. The police have already contacted the social welfare services in order to investigate the place and find out whether this particular place had an operating license.
