The gruesome list of pandemic victims grows. Today the Ministry of Health announced the death of another woman, aged 87, who was hospitalized with coronavirus. In the last 24 hours, 2,815 new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed from a total of 130,466 tests.
Based on current data, the positivity rate stands at 2.16%.
Important data for the epidemiological picture in Cyprus is the data coming from hospitals. Compared to yesterday, today there is a decrease of 17 patients, but still the number of hospitalised patients with coronavirus is increased. In particular, 221 patients are hospitalised, 75 of them seriously. It is worth noting that 70.59% of the hospitalized have no history of vaccination.
Meanwhile one day before the implementation of the test-to-stay measure in schools a total of 193 were identified in primary and secondary schools in all provinces.
Specifically in primary education, a total of 136 cases out of 21,750 diagnostic tests were detected. In Nicosia 32 cases were detected from a total of 8,201 tests, in Limassol 52 cases were detected from 6,235 tests, in Larnaca 23 cases were detected from 3,839 tests, in Paphos 28 cases were detected from 2,362 tests, while in Famagusta Famagusta only one case was detected from 1,113 tests.
Checks were also carried out in secondary education where a total of 57 cases were detected from 7,537 examinations. In Nicosia 12 cases were detected from 3,243 tests, in Limassol 20 cases were detected from 2,013 tests, in Larnaca 15 cases were detected from 1,198 tests, in Paphos 5 cases were detected from 575 tests and in Famagusta province where 508 tests were carried out.

Την ίδια ώρα cases continue to be detected in nursing homes with Nicosia holding the reins as 33 more were detected today out of 720 tests. 3 cases were also detected in Limassol from 519 examinations and 2 in Larnaca from 207.
