No more tests for fully vaccinated travellers to the UK
The requirement for travellers to the UK to undergo any coronavirus diagnostic test if they have had two doses of the vaccine has ceased as of this morning.
Until Thursday night these travellers were required to have pre-ordered an antigen test from a private company.
The requirement for unvaccinated travellers to remain in isolation when they arrive on British territory also ceases to apply, although they continue to be subject to a pre-departure diagnostic test before departure for Britain and a PCR-type molecular test on the second day after arrival.
The Association of British Travel Agents commented that the new policy is a "new chapter" in the travel industry's recovery.
The complete removal of testing for the vaccinated comes ahead of the traditional February school holiday week, which has seen an increase in bookings for overseas travel by British families.
