Varosha is open, not closed, the world welcomes the two-state solution, says Tatar.

There is no longer a closed Varosha, it is open and the E/Cs are being referred to the "property committee" to be given their rights, the T/C leader told Gündem Kıbrıs Web TV.

According to WFP, Tatar said President Anastasiades is telling the E/C that a solution will be found to the Cyprus problem and they will return back to their properties in Varosha. "The people have lost faith that the problem will be solved for 47 years. Their greatest wish is to appeal to the real estate committee and get their rights. There are over 400 applications. If there is no pressure, there will be thousands. We are on the right track. An area of 5 kilometers called closed Varosha has been opened at this time. That was its old name. Now it is open. Since the day it was opened until today more than 400 thousand people have visited it."

He reiterated that the opening of Varosha is supported by Turkey and added that the Cyprus solution must be realistic and practical. "The two sides have been separate for 60 years, there is a separate state, there are things that are experienced separately. It has to be a fair and viable agreement. We do not want quarrels and conflict again."

He argued that the results of the "parliamentary elections" showed that the "two-state solution model" has also been adopted by the "people."
