A new round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will take place today at 10.30 in the morning, via teleconference.

The exact start time of the consultations was confirmed last night by one of the three Ukrainian negotiators, David Arachamia, in a social media post.

The resumption of talks had been confirmed earlier yesterday by both Mikhailo Podolyak, a negotiator and adviser to the Ukrainian president, and Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"Again. Negotiations continue non-stop in the form of video conferences. Working groups are constantly working. A large number of issues require constant attention. On Monday, March 14, a negotiating session will be held to summarize preliminary results..." said Podolyak in a Twitter post on Sunday.

"Russia is starting to talk constructively," he later added via Telegram.

Russian and Ukrainian officials even expressed their most optimistic assessments so far of the progress made in the talks on the war in Ukraine.

They hinted that there could be positive results within days.

In a videotaped message, Zelensky's adviser said Ukraine's proposals are "very tough" and concern "above all the withdrawal of troops, the end of hostilities."

"I believe we will reach concrete results, literally, in a few days," he added.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zhelensky said today that he had instructed negotiators to "do everything" to book a "meeting" between him and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

In remarks on Russian state television yesterday, the Kremlin spokesman did not rule out the possibility that a meeting between the two leaders would indeed take place.

Negotiators from the two countries will hold digital talks today.
