There is no end to the revelations about the actions of the 36-year-old priest, who today, after his plea to the investigating judge, went to prison, accused of raping a 14-year-old student in Sunday school. In fact, the accused, who denies all the offences he has been charged with (rape, abuse of indecency, seduction of a minor and pornographic material), has been subject to additional criminal proceedings for serial abuse of indecency and serial pornography.
At the same time, the witness statements included in the case file are shocking "I think about it now and I'm going crazy because I feel that I sent my child into the mouth of the wolf ....," the mother of the 18-year-old girl says in her statement to the authorities, claiming that the accused priest had also asked her to have sexual intercourse with him. In fact, as she says, the 36-year-old, had made this proposal to her at the time of confession! "He is a monster, very manipulative, he took advantage of the trust we showed him," the girl's mother also noted.
For her part, the 18-year-old, who was allegedly the nanny of the accused's children, testified to the police on Friday. Although this woman did not complain of being raped by the 36-year-old, her descriptions nevertheless match what the minor alleges about the priest's modus operandi. "For 2.5 years I have had feelings for him" says this woman in her statement and claims that the accused could not have used violence on the minor!
"I was sending her into the mouth of the wolf"
In detail, in her statement the mother of the 18-year-old girl states: "My daughter has been going to church since she was little and she is a big believer. And her twin brother is an altar boy. They used to volunteer at the church, they loved to give. We embraced the priest as a family and had a very good relationship with him. We had him as our spiritual director to whom we confessed everything and our children saw him as their father. Imagine that the year before last in 2020 and another time I don't remember exactly when, they trusted him and I allowed my daughter to go with him and his family for a few days vacation in Argos. I had spoken to him before they left and he had told me: "Don't worry, I'll look after her like my family". I think about it now and it drives me crazy because I feel like I sent my child into the mouth of the wolf not only that time but all the times my daughter told me I was going to his children and the priest to help him. He would call her to go and I would allow it."
"He wanted us to get together."
Continuing, the 18-year-old's mother also testified the following: "Months ago, certainly in 2021 which was the last time I confessed to him, in the confessional he had told me that he wanted the two of us to meet in a private place for us to come together and not to be afraid to see it as a redemption for my soul or something like that. I remember he told me that to avoid being targeted he would rent a space or find a secluded place. I listened to him and was confused and then I never went back to him for confession. Of course in no way did I imagine that you would have thought to say something similar to my daughter. He's a monster. Really very manipulative and took advantage of the trust we placed in him and the innocent souls of our children we sent to teach them morals and respect for institutions that honor his profession. I wish to see him severely prosecuted."
For his part, the brother of the 18-year-old girl, who handed over to the police new obscene photographic material found in the house, in his statement to the authorities, said among other things the following: "What pope accepts to have a minor as his mistress and even to take her inside his house with his wife and children. He is obscene. I'm sure my sister was just doing obedience and has the illusion that she was doing well."
"I have feelings."
Now, in her testimony the 18-year-old, who was allegedly babysitting one of the accused priest's children, claimed: "I wanted to have a spiritual director who would comfort me if I talked to him. I found that I found that in this particular priest because of our very strong friendship I was very often helping his family. Especially with holding their children. I was at the priest's house with his children and at one point police officers from the department came to investigate. They confiscated the electronic devices they found there among those devices was my cell phone. I have had feelings for him for 2.5 years now. The summer of 2019 was the first time we consummated our relationship. Everything that has been done has been done of my own free will, I was aware of my actions And what I did, I wanted and did. We met either at my house or his, in his car and in the building that now houses the Sunday school. His wife doesn't know. If something had happened against my will I would have told you immediately. He never did anything bad to me. I sent him and he sent me messages of an erotic nature. I have sent him naked pictures of me and videos of me he sent me accordingly. I have most of them stored on my confiscated mobile phone. Among the other things we were discussing we had referred to third persons as a fantasy but we have never done anything..."
Finally, this woman even argued in her testimony that the accused could not have harmed the minor. "I do not believe that he has done her any harm in any way I do not believe that he has used violence on her. Especially for the time that the accused was accused because of the coronavirus restraining order, when the churches were closed and he had gone through a very serious health problem and was constantly at home. On his birthday we surprised him and the complainant came with familiar persons. If he had raped her, he would not have come," the witness said."
