[Cyprus Times] New measures with mandatory quarantine and tests for those coming to Cyprus from the UK

What applies from today for those coming to Cyprus from the UK Ministry of Health announcement

Due to the rapid increase in Omicron variant cases in the UK, all passengers entering the Republic of Cyprus from 18 December 2021 from the UK, aged 12 years and over, regardless of vaccination coverage or previous infection, must apply the following:


  • Until their PCR result is issued, are required to remain on self-limitation in their place of residence.In case of a positive result, [/b]remain strictly on self-limitation and await instructions from the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit & Infectious Disease Control Unit of the Ministry of Health.
    On arrival, passengers are given a package that contains 5 self-tests, which they must use if they have a negative result in the PCR test performed at the airport. Passengers will perform one self-test every day and in case of a positive result, they will contact their Personal Physician in Cyprus to refer them for a PCR test at the Public Health Clinics of their province of residence. If they do not have a Personal Physician in Cyprus, then they will contact directly the Public Health Clinics Coordination at email: coordination.iatreiadygeias@moh.gov.cy by sending their identification details (name, surname, telephone number, ID number, date of birth and province),
  • and a photo of their positive self-test.
    Within 72 hours of their arrival, given that they have had a negative self-test result in the previous days, they must perform a rapid test at the mobile units of the Ministry of Health and send the result to the email: monada2@mphs.moh.gov.cy through the website from which it will be issued (www.eudcc.gov.cy) by selecting SEND.
To be entitled to the rapid test free of charge, they must present their boarding card at the sampling point.


Passengers are advised during the first days of their arrival in the Republic of Cyprus to be particularly careful and have limited contact, observe personal protection measures (use of mask, hand hygiene, keeping distance) and avoid any physical contact with persons belonging to vulnerable groups.
