The new cases of the virus in Greece - What EODY announced - The situation with deaths and hospitalized people

The recording of increased cases of coronavirus in Greece continues, while the numbers of new deaths are causing concern, which also remain high.

Regarding the patient situation, hospitalizations in the country's hospitals have "touched the red".

In detail, the Hellenic Health Organization's announcement:

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 19,584, of which 60 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 1,909,880 (daily change +1.0%), of which 49.8% are men. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 433 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,594 are associated with an already known case.

New deaths of COVID-19 patients are 78, with a total of 23,275 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.0% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older

The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 583 (60.2% male). Their median age is 66 years. 83.9% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Among intubated patients, 464 (79.59%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 119 (20.41%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,033 patients have been discharged from ICUs.

New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 427 (daily change -9.53%). The seven-day average admission rate is 433 patients. The median age of cases is 35 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of deaths is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
